Ignite Your Daily Routine
5 Daily Reminders To Become A Survivor With Melissa Vogel | 146
In this week’s podcast, I go over my top five daily reminders that I have tried to incorporate into my life. These have been so important for me and I really want you to listen and remind yourself about these everyday. You’ll be shocked at how different you feel and what a change you can have in your life. I hope you take something away from listening this week!

In This Podcast
1. You cannot change the past
2. Other’s opinions do not define your reality.
3. Positive thoughts cultivate positive actions.
4. Overthinking a problem will not solve the problem.
5. You cannot make everyone happy.
I try to keep all of these daily reminders in mind. Especially when I’m struggling or overwhelmed with life, work, being a mom, everything. They’ve really been an important part of my life and my journey.
You can’t change the past:
First, let me start by saying that your past doesn’t define you. I have had so many clients tell me that they’ve done this all before, they lose the weight and then they gain it back. That’s because their past is coming back to haunt them. We are so used to doing what we’ve always done, we revert back to it as soon as we can. I’m challenging you to remind yourself that no matter how weight loss, fitness, health, and wellness have gone for you in the past, you can still move forward. Let your past inform your future, but DO NOT let it define you. It’s already happened, focus on the now and the future.
Other people’s opinions do NOT define your reality:
We’ve all heard someone’s opinion of us and wondered if they were right. Well, they’re not. Everyone has an opinion just like the saying goes 😉 so who cares what they think. Now, if you can handle someone sharing what they really think of you and are strong enough to accept that and take it into consideration, good for you. I’m not, lol. I’ve gotten my feelings hurt but then I remember that someone’s opinion of me, is literally none of my business.
Positive thoughts cultivate positive actions:
Listen, I’m not sitting around thinking how amazing everything is all the time. We have so many thoughts in our brains that we can’t possibly regulate every single one. However, when I notice some negativity, I try to think positive and re-frame my thoughts so they’re not as focused in the negativity, it’s not always possible but thinking positively helps you cultivate those thoughts into positive actions. When you’re thinking about how to make something work, you’re more likely to take the steps to make that work. It sounds so simple, and I’m not saying it is. I know this is hard, but this is one tool that can really be life-changing.
Overthinking about a problem will NOT solve the problem:
By the time we get here, the overthinking phase, we’re dealing with our past, other’s opinions of us, our negative thoughts…no wonder we overthink. There are barriers everywhere. But, overthinking doesn’t help. It often makes things worse. The one thing that solves a problem? Massive action. If you’re sitting around feeling bad that you didn’t work out and are overthinking all the reasons you should have gone but didn’t or don’t want to go but should…get up and go. Work out, take the action. That’s the number one way to solve a problem. Every time.
You can’t make everyone happy:
It doesn’t matter what you do, who you try to please, someone will always be unhappy with a decision you make. This is one of my favorite daily reminders for moms! You are not supposed to make everyone happy, that’s not your job. When you try to please everyone you’re setting yourself up for failure. We don’t do that, we’re Bomb Moms and we set ourselves up for success. So, get comfortable with someone being unhappy about your decisions.
