Ready and Making Changes with a Resistant Partner
Just because one person is ready for major changes in their life, doesn’t mean their partner is. Veronica talks us through some of these situations and how to navigate them. Because our partner isn’t always ready for change when we are, sometimes we need to wait. Veronica talks about the fear that comes with change and how it can effect a marriage and partnership.
While this is difficult, Veronica explains how to set our expectations and what this could mean for our relationships, more broadly.
Taking Care of Everyone but Ourselves
As moms, we all know the struggle of taking care of everyone before we take care of ourselves. Why is this easier? Why do we feel like we can take care of our kids, our home, our relationships, our jobs, and leave ourselves in the dust? Veronica gives some great insight into why we do this and how we can break the cycle.
When we take care of ourselves, we are better partners and parents!
Healthily Negotiating Change within Relationships
Getting married is one thing. Staying married is a lot of work. With that work comes some serious conversations and some serious negotiations. We can’t be partners with someone and live our own separate lives. When someone in the relationship wants to make life-altering changes, it affects everyone.
Veronica explains how we can work through these in a healthy way. Setting boundaries and dealing with the mess along the way. None of this is easy, if it was everyone would be doing it perfectly. However, there are ways to maintain a healthy relationship while making major life changes that will help you become a better partner. Honestly, once they see that, I bet they’ll be all in!
