What you eat matters
“Milk does a body good right?”
Do you give your kids milk in their cereal every morning? Risa recently worked with a woman who for years and drank an 8oz glass of milk 3x a day and was in chronic pain. She was advised to stop drinking the milk and it only took ten days for her pain to go away. Our bodies weren’t meant to process milk. And, where do we start with school lunches?
Everything is in a package since Covid19. Yes we want to keep illness at bay. However, packaged food means preservatives, and additives that are equally terrible for our children. For example, the pizza that’s cooked and kept under a warmer inside of plastic. We need to be more cautious of what we are putting onto and into our bodies. Let’s try eating more foods that don’t have labels and skipping the drive thru for more home cooked meals. For us busy moms (and we know all moms are busy), the crock pot is a huge help.
Autoimmune diseases
The rates of autoimmune diseases are quickly on the rise. Chemicals and processed foods are going into our food that we shouldn’t even be feeding our dogs. Sadly, we are one of the least regulated countries when it comes to the chemicals in our food. Yes, we are born with the equipment in our bodies to breakdown proteins, fats and fibers. Our bodies weren’t made to breakdown dyes, chemicals and additives. Subsequently, those things are what’s causing the development of cancer, ADD and inflammation. The toxins cause inflammation and then disease results. Some can be reversed or slowed down but not all can be cured.
Why diets aren’t working
All of us have tried a diet at some point and failed right? Let start with Keto. Keto is when you switch from eating carbs to eating all fats. First, it’s difficult (if even possible) to get your body into ketosis and remaining there is equally hard. Secondly, it’s easier for men than it is for women, women don’t do as well on the keto diet. And lastly, will you remain doing keto for the rest of your life?
Then there’s vegan diets, there are different levels of every diet and vegan is no exception. Did you know Oreos, french fries and Coca-Cola are vegan? So while you might not be eating animal products, you technically can have the previously mentioned foods. Insert scales emoji here..
Risa’s book Foodframe: Diet Is a Four-Letter Word (linked above) discusses detoxification, different diet types, and recipes. Get your copy today and get yourself started on the right track. Find which diet is best for you and finally lose those extra pounds you’ve been working so hard to lose.
