Have you unlocked your body’s full potential? What temperature is it capable of? And, how can being cold benefit you?
Meet Reis Paluso
As a surfer, husband, father of two young girls, and serial entrepreneur, Reis found himself searching for a way to maintain balance in life.
He was introduced to the Wim Hof Method, and it reignited a mind- body connection that he had lost over time. Thus began the journey of unlocking his true potential.
After a deeper exploration of the Wim Hof Method, including two trips to Poland where he summited frozen mountains in sub-zero temperatures wearing only shorts he learned to love himself again.
Reis realized that was really just the tip of the iceberg. The rabbit hole of breathwork and human optimization was blown open. He quickly became fascinated by all types of breathing and began experiencing as many breathing “methods” and schools of breath as possible. He has been fortunate to study with some of the leaders in the field like Kasper Van Der Meulen, Dan Brule, and Brian Mackenzie.

Creatures of Luxury
As the human race progresses, we’ve become creatures of luxury. For example, clothes to keep us warm, air conditioning, and pools are all ways we regulate our temperature to what we feel is comfortable. But, When was the last time you took a really cold shower or an ice bath? Unless you’re a professional athlete, I’m going to say it’s probably never or that one time you had a really high fever. If you learned that taking a cold shower or ice bath was extremely beneficial and shivering was an excellent way to release adrenaline, you just have to breathe through it, would you consider it then? You should be pushing your body out of its comfort zone. Reserve the last thirty seconds of your shower for a cold water blast. You will shiver but it’s quick and your body can handle it.
The Wim Hof Method
The Wim Hof Method consists of three pillars. The first is breathing, heightened oxygen levels benefit energy, reduced stress, creates an immune response that swiftly deals with pathogens. Second, cold therapy. The cold releases endorphins, triggers weight loss, reduces inflammation and improves sleep. Above all, commitment. Commitment along with breathing and cold therapies are the keys to successfully applying the Wim Hof method to your life. Commitment is most important because nothing changes in one day or one session. As a result, you’ll feel great and want to keep feeling that way. But, once the changes start showing is when you’ll know you are succeeding.
