Today you’ll hear from… me! We’ll go over the reasons you aren’t moving forward in your weight loss journey. What’s stopping you? Are you self sabotaging your own goals? I know everyone has their life outside of working out. #MOMLIFE right? Kids, work, school, sports, nutrition, fitness and it all has to come together to work for you. We need to find the balance and remind ourselves how strong we are. We should be our own motivation. Let’s go over the things that need to happen in order to “break your body”.

From no activity to activity
“Your head is the General, your body is its soldiers”
So you started a new routine, and so far so good. You lost 6lbs in three weeks, that’s great! And now, you’re doing all the same things, still minding what you eat and still doing the workouts. But, you can’t get lower than a certain weight, what’s happening? Your body is responding to the change, when you go from no activity to activity it’s normal to lose a few extra at first. Then, once your body is becoming used to the change its time to re-evaluate the routine. Maybe that was a good start but is it still what your body needs to keep progressing? Probably not, that’s why you’ve plateaued.
Daily caloric burn
How many calories are you burning a day? It’s hard to know unless you have an Apple Watch or Fitbit right? There are ways to do the math but having a device is obviously the easiest way. Everyone has a number, a certain number that if you hit that number, you should be progressing. If you’re hitting that number and nothing is changing then it’s time to re-evaluate. Are you talking to yourself negatively? Maybe you’re being more lenient with your eating habits. If that’s the case, your number should change also.
Mindset
Lastly, how are you treating yourself? You are your biggest supporter. You’ll be the first to notice the change. And, at the end of the day, you are responsible for yourself and most of that fulfillment you’re going to feel is coming straight from the source. There’s no other feeling like it. But, that’s not going to happen by saying negative things to yourself. Change your mindset from “I have to” to “I get to”. Telling yourself you’re too busy is sabotaging yourself. The body will respond to that thought and just like that, self care is off the table for the day.
