Are you good at letting your emotions show? Are you afraid of your emotions or do you bottle them up until you explode?
Meet Joe Hudson
Joe Hudson is a sought after executive coach and creator of The Art of Accomplishment, an online learning platform for personal development. As a venture capitalist Joe found that the most rewarding aspect, and the part he was most successful at, was the mentorship and coaching of the leadership of his portfolio companies. This insight moved him to his present role as a coach, business consultant and teacher.
He now coaches 12 CEOs and leaders in prominent companies and runs transformative programs for both individuals and businesses. He is practicing a craft that makes big, lasting, and overwhelmingly positive impacts on the lives of people in his programs and in the companies he works with.

Loving what you do
“How you do anything is how you do everything”
What are you working towards? Are you looking forward to the accomplishment or just being done with it? Do everything with intention. Your pride and enthusiasm shows and will reflect in your job and personal life. A client or customer can always tell when your heart is in it as opposed to when you just memorized the lines. Someone who is emotionally invested in what they’re doing will almost always do better in their job because they’re putting in more effort. Self care time and work time can be combined. Like therapy or stress relief and the gym.
Feeling your emotions
“It’s really important to make friends with your emotions”
We are constantly in a state of emotion. What that emotion is will differ but nevertheless there will always be an emotion present. Any decision you make is most likely made more with emotion instead of logically. The key is to know what that emotion is and understand it so that you can make the best decision possible. Because if your decision is fear based, you may talk yourself out of certain things that could be great for you. On the other hand, if you know fear is your deciding emotion but can work with it, you may make a better thought out choice. Be one with your emotions. If anger is your current emotion, recognize it, feel it, understand it, and work with it. It’s ok to feel anger. It’s not ok to keep it in until you explode. Anger should be a determined resolute and clear boundary restriction. Anger should be handled calmly but sternly.
Showing your emotions
We need to move emotions outward. Holding everything in creates anxiety and resentment which sometimes are really hard to come back from. Letting your emotions out when you feel them will stop that bottle rocket effect when you can no longer keep it in. Nobody has an issue showing joy, so why is anger such taboo? Everyone feels it yet its constantly kept deep down. Believe it or not how you handle emotions actually shows in your musculature. Joe touches on this in the podcast noting that he can tell how you handle emotions just by the way you’re standing. Work on being joyous but embrace anger too.
“Joy is the matriarch of a family of emotions, and she will not come into a house where her children aren’t welcome”
