Do you really look at the ingredients in your “healthy” grocery options? What’s in that oat milk? Um, did she say high blood sugar??
Meet Brittany Fuisz
Brittany grew up on the beaches of Malibu. Eating local produce and appreciating at a very young age that food is fuel. After graduating Georgetown University and Le Cordon Bleu, Brittany trained at the three Michelin- starred Le Bernardin and The Food Network in New York, where she studied the finest techniques in the culinary world.
However, while trying to get pregnant, Brittany was struggling to conceive and visited a fertility doctor who recommended the “auto-immune protocol”. She experienced great results, e.g. more energy, reduced inflammation, improved focus, and strength. She eliminated dairy, nuts, gluten and soy from her diet and was searching for a milk alternative. Then the idea hit her: “What if I make milk from flaxseed?”

“Healthy” milk alternatives
Let’s dive right in and start with oat milk. Oat milk has the same impact gram per gram as a can of Coca-Cola on your blood sugar. And, most of those oats are covered in weed killer! No thank you. Pea milk, it’s first ingredients are usually oil and sugar. Need we go on about pea milk? Next, almond milk. It takes 20 gallons of water to produce one glass of almond milk. The almonds aren’t even in there.
“You’re drinking almond flavored water.”
Now flax. Flax is an ancient superfood. All it needs to grow is natural rainfall which makes it better for the environment. It’s high in fiber, protein and omega 3’s. Malibu Mylk contains 4 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein per serving.
What are you feeding your kids?
“What you consume everyday builds up in your body”
We need to teach our kids balance, limit snacks, and we need to stop calming them with food. We let them snack all day and later on they don’t want to finish their dinner. Lean towards proteins, gluten free options and organic snacks. Avoid Glyphosate as much as possible. Glyphosate is the most widely used weed killer in the U.S. Starting them as early as possible on healthy options lays a good foundation towards their future food choices.
Malibu Mylk
Not only is flax milk sustainable and allergen-free, but also has a fantastic texture due to the fact that flaxseed is a natural emulsifier. Brittany wanted to share with the world this incredible product that helped her to feel her absolute best, and successfully launched Malibu Mylk in grocery stores in the LA area in 2019. With four flavors to choose from, Slightly Sweetened, Unsweetened, Unsweetened Vanilla, and Flax Oat blend, you’re bound to find one you’ll love.
