Larissa is a former professional beach volleyball athlete. After having children she started a volleyball academy so that she could stay home with her children. Once the kids started school, she started coaching. Then the pandemic hit. And like the rest of us, she was thrown for a loop having to change her teaching style. From that adjustment, something incredible happened. She switched to making fitness You Tube videos from home and started with a hefty following of 7,000 viewers.
Now the founder of Active Kids 2.0., she created a community run by enthusiastic, elite individuals, all led by female founder Larissa Maloney. Active Kids 2.0 is now the fastest growing on-demand service providing an array of fitness and wellness classes for kids!

What is your longest lasting routine? Whether it’s going to the gym, on a walk, holding a job, daily reading, or staying on a diet. Your kids are watching everything. They see your victories and your failures. They want to be like you. Show them how confident and strong and kind you are so that they become all those things too. Lead by example, you are their role model.
Get outside and let them lead in play. Its ok if they’re bored outside because kids will always find something to do after a while. Make being outside a regular thing and slowly but surely you’ll have kids who want to be outdoors and interacting instead of in front of a screen all the time. Joining in play with them is one of the best ways to be their role model.

In the time of a pandemic when everyone was asked to stay home and away from each other a beautiful thing happened. Although we were all being separated, a better sense of community arose.

Her You Tube videos brought together people from all over looking to stay healthy while staying at home with their children. It was fun and family friendly and people wanted more. That’s when Active Kids 2.0 was born.

Meet Melissa Vogel
Melissa Vogel is an energetic keynote speaker, business owner, certified personal trainer, certified group fitness instructor, 1st degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, a mother of three, and a podcaster.
