Ever wondered what it would be like to climb Mt. Everest? Do you feel like maybe you’ve waited too long to take those kind of adventures? Are you ready to find out how much power your mind really has over your body?
In this podcast, I speak with Karen Schwab about the 29029 Everesting Challenge and how much you can accomplish physically by simply “being where your feet are”.
Meet Karen Schwab
50 year old Bomb Mom, mother, and grandmother, Karen Schwab is here talking to us about her journey leading to the 36 hour 29029 Everesting Challenge.
29029 Everesting is the ultimate in endurance challenges and she dominated it with time to spare!
Of coarse it wasn’t just get up and go. There was plenty of physical and mental training to back her. And a friend made along the way was the little push each of them needed.

Comfort kills
“Do hard things! Because, doing hard things makes all of the other things that much easier”. Karen went from crossfit and running 3 miles a day to climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest. From marathons to triathlons. Ever heard of a 4 x 4 x 48? Run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. That feeling of accomplishment is irreplaceable. It took strength and endurance training. You can do anything you set your mind to and your body will respond.
“You change the outcome if you just quit. But, if you push forward and put one foot in front of the other, you make it through somehow. That’s when the growth happens”.
“Be where your feet are”
- Be present
- Be in the moment
- Be proud of what you’re working towards
- Be amazed by what you have and are going to accomplish
This goes towards everything in your daily life:
- It’s not about talking or persuading yourself into things
- It’s about simply taking one more step, it’s about evolving.
What is 29029 Everesting?
29029 Everesting is a 36 hour hike wherein you climb a mountain, take a gondola down and climb again until you climb the equivalent of Mount Everest. You can hike during the day or at night. Tents are provided for rest and medical personnel are around should they be needed. You really find out who you are and what you’re made of. You might even make a friend along the way like Karen did.
