Hormones defined
Hormones are messengers that send signals from the endocrine gland to the cell to influence and regulate behaviors
Big Pharmaceuticals roll
There are NO FDA approved testosterone supplements on the market for women yet 31 for men. It’s easier to call women depressed and offer medication rather than offer a hormone treatment. Because, hormones instead of medication cuts into pharmaceutical profit. Are compound hormones the answer for women? Have we put too much trust into pharmaceutical companies?
Testosterone in the female body
Believe it or not, we need testosterone. It is our body’s most abundant hormone. Testosterone is breast protective and vital in preventing diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It also burns glucose to muscle. But, oral birth control is stopping the production of testosterone from our ovaries, this is why we see an increase in weight gain, depression and even lower libidos.
