Running in motherhood

Having kids does not mean you’ll never see another personal record again- you’ll just need to train creatively for it by utilizing focused time management strategies.
Big Hairy Audacious Goals
“I broke it down into small, mentally manageable pieces” – Suzy Goodwin, on how to approach a 100 mile race
Suzy discussed breaking down each mile of her Guinness World Record race as well as a 100 mile ultra marathon into bite size pieces. This is advice you can use in any program, even as a beginner!
If you have a goal to tackle a 60 or 90 day program, break it down to months, weeks, and days as needed. Small wins create momentum!
Suzy provided tactical tips for running with a stroller (25:00) such as pre-planning routes, owning a flexible mindset and an acronym for head to toe good form:
- Wrists: relaxed, neutral with appropriate handlebar height.
- Abdomen: tight core
- Shoulders: down, relaxed. Away from your ears.
- Hips: aligned, be aware of pelvic tilt
