Your opinion is the one that matters
The moment that you allow the world to judge you or validate you or tell you that you are okay, you’ve already sold your soul because you cannot outsource that power to other people. That is like you are a marionette puppet, and asking for other people to validate you is like asking for, you know, you standing out there looking at the sea and feel like ‘someone is gonna come here and save me’. No, it is up to you.
It is not selfish to say that your opinion is the one that matters – in fact, you retain your power by saying that. Naturally you can be open to suggestions and advice but you criticize yourself enough and at the end of the day, you are the important critic out of them all.
Be honest with yourself and go to bed with a clear conscience that you have done everything that you could do. Only then, if you feel that you could do better yourself, take up that issue with yourself.
Through social media we habitually seek validation from others, but this is a trap that keeps you stuck in the cycle of serving others instead of yourself. Getting your validation from the outside in, instead of from the inside out, leaves you vulnerable to the world around you and susceptible to people trying to control your life.
Fighter Diet concept
Fighter Diet has combined psychology education about diet and nutrition with a positive message about food and also about meal plans because they allow you to eat a lot.
The eat big and lose big idea comes from the fact that if you have a big appetite, that is something not to be ashamed of but something that you can use to your advantage because if you have a large appetite, you can use that to help you build muscle. You cannot build muscle without eating, it is not possible, therefore starving yourself or severely restricting food has an exponentially negative impact on your health and potential fitness.
You can instead work to change your mindset of eating a lot of unhealthy or moderately healthy food to something more sustainable and nutritious and combine that with proper exercise to build muscle a lot faster.
The main idea is not to depend on willpower, willpower is like a bad lover and leaves you when you need it. It is discipline that you build up and rely on to get you through the day. Take away the negative consequence of eating a lot. The psychology behind it is not restricting and eating what you love to so that you can remain consistent within a weight range that is healthy for you.
Food is more than fuel
Food is not just fuel and thinking about it only as fuel for your body can be dangerous and may lead to binging. This is because food is also a social connection, it is art, creativity, a connection to childhood memories, and to culture and we cannot ignore these ties.
When we try to ignore the human-potential behind food and restrict it only to what our body scientifically needs, we run the risk of binging because, in that mindset, 1 cookie equates 20 cookies which is not possible and not healthy.
This is why creating a healthy, long-term eating plan is a lifestyle, a diet for life, instead of a quick crash-and-burn-diet that promises too much and is not sustainable. Your diet or lifestyle serves you, you do not serve it.
Pauline’s food in a day
Morning
Oatbran with cocoa powder, a chocolate whey protein shake with peanut butter all together in a chocolate breakfast bowl.
Afternoon
A protein shake between workouts. Pauline’s personal choice is to save her big meals for dinner.
Evening
A large bowl of roasted vegetables like cabbage or cauliflower with turkey bacon and spices. Dessert is another chocolate bowl of whey protein, yogurt, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and peanut butter.
The Fighter Diet, and any diet for that matter, is suitable to you. For the best long-term results that last, it is good to tailor a diet to suit your lifestyle and your preferences to the healthiest of your abilities, instead of you feeling that you have to eat like someone else.
Find your preferences and enjoy what you eat and how you exercise to be genuinely happy with your body and be healthy in your life.
