- Three actions you can take today
People will start to notice
The thing is once you start making changes in your life, people will start talking. The more seriously you take this, the more changes will happen in your life and the more likely you will hear people say things like; “OMG, she’s obsessed.” The good thing is that now you know other people are noticing your change, and they’re starting to know you for your new journey.
Not everyone is cut out to be fit
Everyone has the possiblily, but not everyone can do it.
It takes failing, learning a lot and not everyone is cut out for that and the dedication that comes with it. People also worry about what other people are going to say. When you start getting comfortable with being uncomfortable, that’s when you can start to make real changes. Are you willing to put in the work?
OMG, she’s obsessed
Not everyone is going to agree with your journey. In fact, they’ll talk about it.
Other people’s opinions about us is none of our business.
We’ve all been there, it’s easy to say you don’t care about what other people say until you overhear them speaking about you. This actually happened to me about 5 years ago. When my daughters first got into sports, I quickly realized how much time was spent just sitting. The hours of sitting adds up really quick and I started to use that time to work out instead. Imagine watching this crazy mom doing a HIIT workout while you just sit there. That can be a trigger for some women, and others would feel inspired. So I slowly started to become less in the “mom group” and I found myself not being welcomed as much. One day I was in the bathroom changing, and two moms came in and started talking about food and body shaming themselves. Then somehow that led to talking about me. They talked about my clothes, my leggings, and even my team snack choices. I was frozen and crumpled to my knees and I started to cry. What hurts the most was that I thought one of these people was my friend. At the time, I wasn’t tough enough to handle it. Afterward, I promised myself I would never cry over this again.
It’s okay to go against the flow.
It’s okay to make fitness such a big part of your life that others take notice. If no one is noticing, then you’re not going hard enough.
3 action steps
- Go against the flow. Look around, what is everyone else doing? Do the exact opposite.
- Track your activity. There is power in seeing your progress. Everything adds up.
- Reward yourself! Connect your body and mind together with positive reinforcements.
Write this down, hit 200 calories, and add all your activity up. Try and hit 200 calories with imperfect activity.
