What is a shark mom?
You will no longer let quitting be an option.
We need to have the mindset of constantly swimming forward and progressing. If we stop swimming, we die. We can’t swim backward, it’s not an option. If you can develop this mindset as a mom, as someone on this fitness journey, you’re going to become unstoppable.
Things that make you stop
Before, my life was messy, it ruled me and I would stop swimming. I would make progress and then I would stop and then I would get comfortable. I would wake up in the morning and take care of everyone and everything else first. All of these things would make me stop, my mindset was not in the right place.
Having hard conversations
There was something inside of me that wanted more. And the guilt that came along with that is what silenced me. When you start discovering and having hard conversations with yourself, and figuring out what the hell it is you want out of life, there is a tremendous sense of guilt. You start feeling like a bad mom because you want more. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting more!
Working on yourself
If you start working on you, it is not going to affect your family in a negative way.
You’re going to get an opportunity to recharge that battery. Take a moment to destress, decompress and focus just on you… When you get back to your family you are going to be in such a good headspace that you will give them the best of you, because you took time for you to develop your body, mind, heart, and soul.
Have a plan of action
Always take control before something takes control of you.
You can be an amazing shark mom. Work on your mindset and the best way to attack this is to have a plan of action. Know where you’re swimming, know where you’re going, and accept being different!
- Think about your self-talk, this is a direct reflection of your mindset. What are you saying to yourself?
- Where do you want to go next?
- Do you have support?
- Learn to take yourself seriously, learn to be okay with making yourself a priority.
